Why I belong
Why do I belong to a university? I belong to a university because I believe that I have earned it. Earning it isn’t enough though is it? I have to keep earning it and working to prove I’m earning it. I always study and do my homework but so does everyone else. What makes me so different that everyone else? The difference is perseverance. I will make sure I persevere because not everyone does. Everyone wants to win but not all can. I always stride to persevere and sometimes I sprint. As long I try, I will persevere. I once heard that “No” is not an option and to me it isn’t. It isn’t to me because that one little magic word, “perseverance”.
I am a writer and I will be a good one. No one can tell you that you are a writer except you. I have never considered myself one but now I do. I do not consider myself a good one but I will work hard to make sure I’m a good one. In order to be good you have to want it and be willing to work for it. One of my old teacher said “The world owes you a living, but you have to work for it.” If I want to be a good writer I have to work for it.
I am a hard worker and I always do all I can to persevere, but is that all? No, I always want to help out. I do all I can to help the community. Just like I help the community where I’m from, I will help the community to which I move to. I am always willing to help no matter what. Last year I had a fever but I was still at the soup kitchen helping the less fortunate. When I had a fractured knee I was still at the local day care helping kids with their homework and playing tag with them. If you put your mind to something you can always accomplish it.
So, why do I belong? Is it because I’m helpful and hard working? That’s not it at all. Everyone belongs and as long as you believe that you do, you will always belong. So again, why do I belong? “I just do”

A list on belonging
· power
· money
· respect
· good looks
· friends
· loyalty
· popularity
· physical strength
· connections
· charisma
· deception
Do you really need all this in order to fit in?
Why can you not just be yourself?
Is that not good enough for you or for other people?
I say forget about other people!!!
Be yourself and be free
The truth is in order to fit in you need to be yourself
No trick to it, just be yourself
The world is NOT about you but YOUR WORLD IS ABOUT YOU
Be free and you belong to something that truly matters,
YOURSELF
Popular Click
Original short story by Ricky-Tan
Bob: Look at the cool click Danny!! I wish I could be cool and be one of those kids!!!
Danny: You mean belong to their click and be popular?
Bob: *Duh Stupid*
Danny: Why, what’s so great about them?
Bob: That’s dumb, everyone wants to be cool. Look at them they look so happy chill.
Danny: Well you look pretty happy and chill right now!
Bob: Yeah but they are popular and were not.
Danny: Were pretty popular in our own little group….
Bob: Yeah but their popular school wise!!!
Danny: Oh No being popular in high school is going to get them real far in life!!!
Bob: What, you’re telling me you don’t want to be like them?
Danny: Actually no! Don’t you see we already belong? Only difference is we can act like ourselves. We belong to ourselves!!
Bob: That’s stupid!!! What you’re saying is that by being ourselves we automatically belong to our own little group like a crazy person?
Danny: No, that by being you, you belong to something even better….
Bob: What’ that?
Danny: yourself

This I Believe

Richie Heredia
This I Believe
I believe that what goes around comes around. I believe in “karma”.
Karma is a force that evens out the world. Karma is a force that evens out my actions. I see it as threads that bind me to everything. When I think of karma, I think that everything I do has an opposite reaction. It’s almost like an equation even.
When I was younger I was always a cheerful little kid. Although I was cheerful I had of a habit of getting into trouble. I used to mess with people for no reason. One day while I was in school I tripped a friend of mine named Manny because I thought that it would be funny. He fell and I laughed. While in lunch I tripped on a rock on top of the jungle gym. I was running so fast I flew of and fell right of the slide. After that I wondered what such a big rock was doing in such a weird place. It turns out that when I tripped Manny he got really upset. He had to cool off and he went outside very mad to throw things. He threw a rock and it coincidently landed on the jungle gym. That was the rock I had tripped on. If I had never tripped him he would have never thrown the rock that I tripped on.
A negative outcome is only half the part of karma. The other half is a good outcome. On a summer eve I saw a group of people chasing a little dog. They caught him and they were going to take him to the pound. I figured that they would kill him so I told them that it was my dog. I took it home and took care of it. I put lost signs and walked the dog to see if anyone would recognize him but no one did. About a week later I got a call from the owner and I gave him his dog back. The owner was so grateful that he gave me 200 dollars and I felt great that I had saved a dog’s life.
I’m Richie and I believe in karma!!!
